Updates

November 13, 2008

I'll admit that these site updates are a little boring, so I've decided to start "blogging" a little about the anime or manga that I'm currently watching or reading. By doing this, I can share my thoughts about a certain manga volume without waiting until I've finished the series to write a review (I make it a rule to only review an anime/manga if I've watched/read it from the beginning to end.)

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us I just finished reading volume one of "Sugar Princess: Skating to Win" by Hisaya Nakajo and it's pretty good! This doesn't mean that I've finished reading Nakajo's other series, "Hana Kimi," though. It was so long that I forgot where I left off. ^^; "Hana Kimi" would be a better series if the author didn't drag the story on for so long. I wanted to push Mitsuki and tell her to get together with Sano already (because they like each other!) I hope "Sugar Princess" doesn't drag on like that, even though the main character is only a junior high school student.

Maya Kurinoki, is an eighth grader who was swept into the figure skating world when a coach witnessed her landing a double-axel (by pure accident!) She went through a few obstacles in the first volume, which includes trying to convince famous skater Shun Kano to acknowledge her. When a-girl-character-that-acts-like-a-jealous-bitch showed up (as they eventually always do) with unkind words, they did not discourage Maya. Instead, she had the complete opposite reaction~ they fired her up to improve her skating skills! Her optimism really inspires me. Maya goes for the goal with all she's got without sparing a second for negative thoughts. ^_^

Overall, this is a great start for a new series! Nakajo's style is nice, laid-back, and easy to read. I have high hopes for this one. <3

November 08, 2008 Hey guys! Surprise, surprise! I added a review for Arina Tanemura's Short-Tempered Melancholic and Other Stories! I'm terribly sorry for not being able to update more frequently~ I do try my best! I'm in the middle of planning some new pages for Chantilly so you'll have that to look forward to. ^_^ Thank you for visiting!

August 25, 2008 Today must have been one of the most stressful days of my life. i've been sniffly all day so I hope I'm not going to get sick. I know I haven't updated in a while, so I put up a new wallpaper featuring Nobara from "Crimson Hero." I made this a while back. :) Enjoy!

August 12, 2008 Hi everyone! I had planned to update earlier, but I've been caught in the whirlwind of school, the start of the 2008 Beijing Olympic games, and my birthday last saturday! xD I put up a new gallery of avatars, dedicated to a miniseries titled, "Byousoku 5 Centimeter." Directed by Makoto Shinkai, "Byousoku 5 Centimeter" is an animated film that presents the real world in a way that the audience could relate to. There are three episodes in all. I have yet to watch this film, but the animation is really beautiful and breathtaking! :)

July 26, 2008 I wish summer vacation is longer...can you believe school officially starts next week Tuesday? Who goes back to school in July? *cries* Anyway, I added more avatars~ featuring my all-time favorite manga series, Nodame Cantabile! ^_^

July 20, 2008 Yay for more updates! I added a new review for the manga series Basara two days ago, but I forgot to mention it here. I've also added an avatar section. It looks empty now but I'm going to add more very soon! ^_^ Right now, I have Bleach avatars that I made lonnggg time ago for a contest. They're old, but I still like them very much. Enjoy!

June 22, 2008 I added one new wallpaper, featuring one of my favorite series, "Gokinjo Monogatari." The wallpaper is made in larger screen resolutions so that it can be higher quality. Enjoy! :)

June 13, 2008 Yikes. I haven't updated in a century. *dodges rotten tomatoes* The last update was dated in February, which was the busiest month of in my school calendar year because of the countless projects assigned, not to mention the preparation for a trip to Japan in March. After spending one week in Japan, homework consumed the rest of my spring break and I have been busy ever since. As time went on, I also admit that I lacked the motivation to update. I did not feel like editing or uploading scans anymore. Although many others do it, it did not feel right to post up copyrighted artwork. This is why the galleries are gone. I still have my reviews and wallpapers, but much of the content has disappeared. I want to start Chantilly new again and add new resources for visitors. I won't lie to anyone - updates won't be very frequent, but I will try my best to remain consistent. To all of my linkies, I apologize for being such a bad affiliate! I understand if you no longer want to exchange links with me since my site is changing and a little different now. Thank you for sticking with me. Many thanks to everyone reading this!
